Terms of Use
Version 1.0
1. Who we are
LatterHQ (the “Service”) is operated by LatterHQ [Latter Ltd — company details to be confirmed], United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@latterhq.com.
The Service is the LatterHQ web application at latterhq.com, including any version you install to a device home screen. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What LatterHQ is — and is not
LatterHQ is a reference and calculation tool for qualified refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump professionals. It provides calculators, reference data, diagnostic aids and record-keeping features.
It is not a substitute for your own professional training, judgement and on-site diagnosis; for the manufacturer’s documentation for the specific equipment you are working on; or for your legal and regulatory obligations, including under the F-Gas Regulations and any certification scheme you hold.
You retain full responsibility for every decision you make and every action you take on site — including diagnosis, repair, component replacement, refrigerant handling, evacuation and system charging. Outputs of the Service (calculated charges, expected operating envelopes, guided fault-finding steps, confidence indications, diagnostic suggestions and service-menu instructions) are aids to your professional judgement, not instructions to be followed without verification.
Reference data is compiled from manufacturers’ published documentation or field verification and provided in good faith. Equipment varies by model, revision and market. Always confirm against the manufacturer’s documentation for the specific unit in front of you before acting.
3. Professional use only
The Service is intended for use by persons qualified to work on refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump systems, including — where the work requires it — holders of current F-Gas certification. By using the Service you confirm you are such a person, or work under the supervision of one.
You must not rely on the Service to carry out work you are not qualified or certified to perform.
4. Your account
Access is by sign-in link or code sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping that email account secure and for all activity under your account.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter. Records generated by the Service — including the refrigerant register and any reports — are only as accurate and complete as the information you put in.
Founding and complimentary access codes are personal, single-use and non-transferable. We may withdraw access obtained by sharing, reselling or misusing a code.
5. Acceptable use
You must not: reverse engineer, decompile, scrape or systematically extract the Service’s software or compiled reference datasets; share, resell or sub-licence your account; use the Service or data taken from it to build or operate a competing product or data service; or upload unlawful content or use the Service in breach of any law.
6. Subscriptions, pricing and payment
Some features require payment. What is included, the price and the billing basis (one-off or recurring) are shown at the point of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.
Recurring subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from Manage Subscription; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
Refunds — monthly plans: you may cancel at any time and access continues to the end of the paid month; no further payment is taken. We do not refund the current or previous months once access has begun.
Refunds — annual plans: we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase, provided the Service has not been misused. After 14 days the plan is non-refundable; you may cancel auto-renewal and keep access to the end of the paid year (no pro-rata refund).
Consumer cancellation right: LatterHQ is a digital service that begins immediately. Where you are a consumer, by starting to use the Service (and at checkout) you consent to immediate access and acknowledge that, once the service has begun, your statutory 14-day right to cancel a digital service for a refund may no longer apply, except as stated in the money-back guarantee above.
We may change prices for future billing periods; we will give notice before a change affects you, and you may cancel rather than accept it.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability, but the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reference data is complete or current for every model.
We may add, change, suspend or withdraw features. If we permanently remove a material paid feature we will, on request, refund a fair proportion of any period you have prepaid.
Data you enter while your device has no connection may fail to save. Always confirm that important records — particularly statutory refrigerant records — have saved successfully.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for: any loss or cost arising from work carried out, or not carried out, on equipment — including the cost of parts, components, refrigerant, labour, re-attendance, remedial work or making good (for example, the cost of a compressor replaced in reliance on the Service); loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, anticipated savings or goodwill; loss or corruption of data; or any indirect or consequential loss.
Subject to the above, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the total amount you paid us for the Service in that period (and, where you paid nothing in that period, to £50).
The Service’s outputs depend on the data you enter and on third-party manufacturer documentation. Subject to the above, we accept no liability for errors in manufacturer documentation, or for the consequences of data you have entered incorrectly or incompletely.
You agree that this allocation of risk is reasonable given that the Service is a low-cost professional aid and that you, as a qualified professional, retain responsibility for your work.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design and compiled datasets are owned by or licensed to us. You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use the Service while these terms apply; nothing more is granted.
Manufacturer names, model designations and fault codes are used solely to identify equipment for diagnostic reference. All trademarks are the property of their owners. LatterHQ is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any equipment manufacturer.
10. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Job and customer records you create may contain personal data about your own customers. For that data you are the data controller and we act as your processor, processing it only to provide the Service to you.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. Deleting your account is built into the app — go to Company profile, then Your data, and choose “Delete my account & data”. It runs immediately and cannot be undone. We delete your profile, company details and jobs, and keep only records we are required to keep. Export your data first: statutory records such as your F-Gas register must be retained by you for 5 years, and once deleted we cannot recover them for you.
12. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continue in force.
We may update these terms; if a change is material we will notify you and, where required, ask you to accept the updated terms before continuing. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
